Size Doesn’t Matter? Design from Estonia exhibition runs from 24 April until May 25, 2014.
Estonia is a small but extremely creative country. The density of designers is very high. Estonia has one designer per 800 residents and the country’s design courses are quite famous.
However, hardly anyone is aware that James Bond’s legendary miniature Minox Spy Camera, Skype and TransferWise were developed by Estonians. This country, with barely 1.3 million residents, has its own satellite and possesses great expertise in the area of electronics. This country is renowned for its eGovernment, eElections, eParking, and it is even possible to order a Christmas tree online there.
Please note: 24-27 April: Pop-up shop Estonian Design House in the Design Flanders Gallery. Interactive debates and lectures attended by Estonian design critics and designers have been planned for this same weekend.
Address: Design Flanders Gallery, Kanselarijstraat 19, 1000 Brussels | Belgium
Open: Tuesday to Friday from 12am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm, and by appointment. Closed on Mondays and on public holidays.
